Leadership Training

SUTI2
Scripture Union has invested many years in growing and developing Christian leaders for dynamic, effective ministry. Now we want to make this opportunity available TO YOU…

Scripture Union’s Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) is a nationally accredited leadership course designed to develop and grow leaders for Christian ministry. Learn at your own pace in a Christian context with an experienced mentor.

There are many ways of undertaking the course. Learning occurs “on the job” in ministry with SU or your own church. Assessments are based on practical aspects of your ministry involvement.

At the end of the course, you will be equipped in:
  • being an effective team member,
  • planning and organisation,
  • leading a team,
  • equipping and empowering others for ministry, and
  • innovating and improving ministry.
This course is firmly grounded in biblical principles and practical ministry experience.

Volunteering with SUSA
Scripture Union is committed to introducing children, young people and families to Jesus, the Bible and the local church. Working with those three groups, there are a number of opportunities for a ministry component to the course.
  • Camping
Camps are run throughout the year and vary in age range, location and nature including arts-based, study camps and regional youth camps. You will learn how to be an effective team member, develop training and coaching skills, build a team and possibly lead a camp.

  • Missions
Missions are outreach programs catering for all of the family. Generally they are located in holiday locations over various holiday breaks. You will learn how to build teams,
help your team to develop, plan and improve a program, and develop your leadership skills.

  • Schools
SUSA runs various programs and activities in schools to introduce students to the Christian faith and the local church. This includes such elements as Christian Option Programs, lunchtime groups, seminars and other service activities. You will learn how to develop a ministry that meets the needs of a school community, build a team, develop team goals and lead the team in the accomplishment of those goals.

These are just some of the many opportunities that form part of SUSA’s wide range of ministries. This is a great opportunity to be part of what God is doing in South Australia through SUSA.
