SU Teachers' Christian Fellowship formed
In May 2008 SU established the SU Teachers' Christian Fellowship.  Over 100 teachers attended the inaugural meeting at SU House in Dar es Salaam. The aim of the Fellowship is to unite Christian teachers under the umbrella of SU in order to encourage Christian witness in Tanzania's schools. A training session for the Dar es Salaam branch committee of the Fellowship was held in Dar on 14th June 2008. The second conference for this Fellowship was held at SU House in Dar on 6th December 2008, when 30 more teachers from the region signed up as members. Registered members in Dar now total 130. Plans are developing to open branches of the Fellowship in other regions.

Schools Ministry
On 1st November 2008 a whole day seminar was held in Dar es Salaam for 100 school leavers.  Christmas holiday camps were also held in Mbeya and Arusha.  On 9th December Emmaus, assisted by three other SU staff, led a seminar for 60 youngsters who had completed their primary school education.  The aim of the seminar was to prepare them for life as Christian secondary school students.

Inaugural meeting of the SU Media Christian Fellowship
This new Fellowship was launched at a special dinner in Dar es Salaam on 19th December 2008, when about 30 Christians working in the media attended. The decision to launch this Fellowship came about through Emmaus' radio ministry, where he noted a need for pastoral care for Christians who are often working in quite challenging situations as journalists and broadcasters.
